The E3 trade show has been going on this week, with major press conferences from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, EA and Ubisoft. As always, some new projects have been revealed, along with progress demonstrated on projects previously announced. There were also some announcements in the run-up to E3 which I will include here too for context.
Microsoft
- Oculus teams up with Xbox for game streaming, controller
- Microsoft is also partnering with Valve for VR on Windows 10
- Microsoft shows off ‘Minecraft’ built specifically for HoloLens
- Xbox One to Windows 10 streaming feels just like console gaming
- Xbox One will play Xbox 360 games, preview members can try it today
Sony
- Third-parties are making lots of games for PS4 and they look good
- Shenmue 3 Kickstarter is a huge and immediate crowdfunding success
- Sony already has over 30 Project Morpheus VR games in the works
Nintendo
- Nintendo are still rudderless and irrelevant
- There won’t be any news until 2016 on the pending Nintendo NX console which nobody will buy
EA
